Kullu manali in a nut-shell

Having attended a camp of youth hostel association of india, i've just terurned to Delhi . For the benefit of fellow travel enthusiasts ,im scribbling some travel notes here which are usually not found in travel guides: 1. The new manali town is as polluted and dirty as it could be. 2. visit old manali village and meander into its bylanes to winess many europeans who have settled here and living with their families. 3.Avoid visiting Rohtang pass if u cant leave ur hotel or camp at 5.30am 'cos u may get stuck into a chaotic traffic-jam engulfed into fumes of burning diesel and petrol. 4. The most beautiful landscape is to be found at Solang valley just nine k.m. from Manali town. take a pony ride to Anjani mahadev from here and enjoy the grandeur of valley. Para gliding and horse riding are other activities u can enjoy here.Don't try driving mountain bikes here 'cos their handles are too hard to handle . 5.There r many spots where u can enjoy the bank of river Beas , but the best one is Raison about nine k.m. from Kullu on road to Manali. Just on the right side of milestone indicating Raison O k.m. there is a small restaurant where u can find beer as well . If u want to enjoy river rafting for the first time , this is the place to look for . 6.There are hotels for every budget here ,but the best option will be Himachal tourism's log huts at Kasol which is on the road leading to hot water springs of Manikaran. 7. Don't forget to visit Naggar and spend some time in old haveli of Devika rani and her celebrated painter husband . No photos this time as these r quite personal ! For a family tourist there is hardly any place more beautiful and affordable than Manali , but for god's sake don't club it with dirty Simla . Simla is okay during Sep-Oct and Feb-march only.Enjoy!! queris and questions r welcome!
